Poets, short story authors, novelists, cartoonists, scriptwriters - giants whose creativity flows through the pen (or keyboard) have long called Palmerston North home. Some of our wordsmiths grew up here; some travelled the world and settled in Palmerston North, attracted to its creative community.

The Palmerston North City Library, fondly referred to as the “Living Room of the City”, is a dynamic, active hub right in the middle of town and regularly hosts author events. In addition to the central library, there are four neighbourhood libraries and an award-winning library bus that makes 39 stops around the city.
