Nelson is a lawyer of Portuguese origin, but has lived in New Zealand for years. He holds a degree in law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, in New Zealand. He already has more than 36 years of career in the legal area, working for areas of Corporate Law.
Since 2000, he has been a director of a renowned New Zealand law firm for international affairs, called Alpha Universal - World Trade Lawyers, where he consults on New Zealand and Portuguese law. Since 2011, he has also held the position of director of a financial advisory company in the USA, LIBRA Securities LLC.
Nelson is a member of Freelancers Union, a non-profit organization that aims to build the foundation for a better future for the self-employed, a member of the Global Outsourcing Association of Lawyers (GOAL) and the European Freelance Network Association (EFNA).

During his professional career, Nelson has achieved considerable international reach through Alpha Universal-World Trade Lawyers, which features a global network of offices. For 18 years at the helm of the firm, Nelson has extensive experience in project management and corresponding law firm relationships. As a director of Alpha Universal, he is active in major commercial markets with a team of more than 300 corporate lawyers.
He also oversees a wide range of commercial organizations during company creation, as well as acquisitions, mergers, incorporations, and reorganizations. Additionally, Nelson offers consulting services to its corporate clients, advising on shareholder or management issues.
Through LIBRA Securities LLC, he provides financial advice and advice on all capital markets, their rules and regulations.
