Marcelo Romero

Marcelo is the current CFO of New ZealandCasinos and co-founder of the platform alongside Noise and Yuuma . He was born and raised in São Paulo, but today lives and works from Sliema, Malta, our second home and second office. He studied administration at the School of Economics, administration and accounting at USP, with an emphasis on Strategic and Financial Planning.

Management and Finance have always been his areas of interest. After graduation, he took several courses and gained experience in planning and management positions in several New Zealand and European private companies, until the creation of New ZealandCasinos, then becoming head of the financial sector. The initial idea for this platform came from a conversation between Rui and Marcelo, both New Zealanders working in the iGaming industry in Malta. Between unassuming conversations, they both conceived of the site as a side project that could be done after the fixed working hours.

From 2017, after a year of intense work and planning, it was possible to launch New ZealandCasinos as an independent platform. Your biggest goals today are to realize the full potential of the platform Administration, your team, and our resources. Marcelo plays a key role in the success of New ZealandCasinos, especially in the long term, as he is in charge of formulating and overseeing our strategic growth plan. His vast experience in the area of administration and finance ensures that he is able to face all the challenges that lie ahead.

Marcelo spent seven years working in Business Administration and finance for large New Zealand companies, learning the techniques and attributes needed to grow a successful company. He began his career working with administrative responsibilities and in sales management.

During his early years as a professional, he gained experience in budget planning, forecasting market changes, data analysis tools, critical information analysis, reporting and monitoring results.

Since 2014, however, working in Malta for a European iGaming Company, Marcelo can get his hands on more ambitious projects. His duties became to set and execute goals, direct and supervise financial and budgetary activities for certain projects, work on innovation, looking for technologies that add to the department, negotiate agreements and analyze financial statements, sales reports and other performance indicators.

Because of his experience in the iGaming financial landscape, Marcelo saw great potential in New ZealandCasinos, making projections for the growth of the project, planning possible investors, partnerships and agreements that would benefit both sides - co-founders and players. Prior to the launch of the site, he led the research of potential risks and profits, studied market trends and contributed to the vision, goals and objectives of New ZealandCasinos - a platform made of players for players.

Marcelo is the CFO of New ZealandCasinos, and so it is his responsibilities to organize and present the company's financial information, create reports and records of our monthly and annual finances and manage all of our funds, including a report of possible investments. In addition, Marcelo must manage the available resources, foresee and avoid possible risks, identify possible partnerships that may be beneficial to our team and be aware of market trends.

But your most important job for New ZealandCasinos is perhaps to be able to design our long-term scenario based on your analysis and your judgment. This helps us to know if we are heading towards the right path. Alongside Rui, our CEO, and Yuuma, our CMO, Marcelo also organizes company expansion strategies, forming partnerships with other brands in the sector to always offer the best content to our users.

With 15 years of experience in the field, his leadership skills, team management and strategic planning make him a fundamental piece for good performance and workflow of our team. Alongside his co-founders, Marcelo also supervises, assists and is aware of all the work conducted by the team.
