888 Holdings, one of the most popular brands in online entertainment and a leader in the iGaming market, announced in January 2019 that it had obtained a gaming license in New Zealand. This license allows the company to offer betting games such as slots, poker and table games through a website completely aimed at the English public.
Following the legal launch of the 888 Group in Sweden, also earlier this year, the Portuguese license represents the 12th jurisdiction in which the company can legally exercise its functions and disseminate its platforms. In addition to Sweden and New Zealand, 888 currently has licenses in the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Romania, Ireland, Spain, Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware, the last three being within the United States.
Both recently acquired licenses demonstrate 888 Holdings ' commitment to expanding the reach of its business through attractive and legalized markets. In New Zealand, the body called Gaming Regulation and Inspection (SRIJ) is responsible for regulating the country's gaming scene and the only one that can issue licenses of this nature. This is the 16th license issued by the SRIJ since 2015, when the online gaming scene was opened in the country.
The company also announced that the launch of the brand 888 Casino in New Zealand it will be followed by the launch of 888 Poker in the coming months. Poker players residing in the country will then be able to access the platform and have access to a network of players from all over Europe. This network will also be launched soon and will offer a high number of games and functionalities that European users are used to using.
Executive CEO of 888 Group commented
